Young Families: Meet Ali
Ali Schwartz is joining the Young Family Engagement Team with the Jewish Federation of Cleveland as the new PJ Library Engagement Ambassador for South Solon, Twinsburg, Aurora and the surrounding cities. Ali is already enjoying meeting the young Jewish families in the area and can’t wait to meet more through PJ Library.
Q – What is your role as an Engagement Ambassador?
Ali: I’ve been able to connect families in the Twinsburg, Bainbridge, Aurora and South Solon areas through many events we’ve had, including the Twinsburg ‘Light the Night’ Chanukah celebration and the Federation’s Young Families Tzedakah Party. PJ Library has so much to offer, including free books through the mail. Over the next few months, I’m setting up more opportunities for everyone to meet and get together.
Q – Why is Jewish Cleveland a great place for young Jewish families?
Ali: I moved back to Northeast Ohio from Los Angeles in 2007; as a Cleveland native, I wanted to raise my children in a city with a strong Jewish community. My family loves to enjoy all Cleveland has to offer, and there’s no other place where we can embrace our Judaism with other young Jewish families like this city.
Q – How does PJ Library help celebrate Jewishness in South Solon, Twinsburg, and Aurora?
Ali: I’ve been to several events already with PJ Library and it’s a phenomenal opportunity to learn about Judaism through books and activities. PJ Library provides a tool for families in the Twinsburg and South Solon area to take part in Federation events without having to drive to Beachwood. There are so many young Jewish families moving there with similar Jewish values and I love connecting with them through PJ Library.
