A group of 20 Jewish young professionals and supervisors from St. Petersburg, Russia, visited Northeast Ohio last week to learn about the region’s Jewish community – and to take those lessons back home to help strengthen the Jewish community there.

Members of the community are invited to help save a life at the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s Blood Drive on Monday, March 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Federation’s Mandel Building, 25701 Science Park Drive in Beachwood.

Security is a top priority in the Jewish community and it has become a growing concern as anti-Semitic and terror attacks take place around the world. To strengthen security within the local community, the Jewish Federation of Cleveland has acquired a mobile patrol unit.

Abraham H. Foxman, national director of the Anti-Defamation League, will discuss “Global Anti-Semitism” when he delivers the Sidney Z. Vincent Memorial Lecture at the 68th annual meeting of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s community relations committee at 7 p.m. Feb. 17 at Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple in Beachwood.

If a man walks into a building wearing improper attire, such as heavy clothing during the summer, that may indicate he should be watched closely.
