Donors to Jewish Federation Help Keep Community Strong in Wake of Global Pandemic by Contributing $33.1M in Annual Campaign

The Jewish Federation of Cleveland announced that $33,105,529 has been raised by more than 12,000 donors representing 8,701 gifts in the 2021 Campaign for Jewish Needs, the annual fundraising campaign that serves Jewish Cleveland and the global community. Additionally, through a match opportunity from the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Foundation, the community raised $1,000,000 for the Jewish Cleveland’s Coronavirus Emergency Relief Fund, contributing to a grand total of $15,416,989 toward this COVID relief effort to date. These totals were shared at the virtual Campaign Closing Celebration on December 9.

Kol Israel Fall Memorial to Remember Six Million Jews Who Perished in the Holocaust

During the Jewish High Holy Days, the Kol Israel Foundation and Jewish Federation of Cleveland will honor and commemorate the six million Jews who perished in the Holocaust with an annual fall memorial service. This in-person, drop-in event will be held on Sunday, September 27 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Cleveland Holocaust Memorial Monument in Zion Memorial Park (5461 Northfield Road, Bedford Heights). The monument was built by Kol Israel members in 1961 and contains ashes from concentration camps of Europe.

Keith Libman Receives Prestigious Gries Family Award

The Jewish Federation of Cleveland announced that Keith Libman is the 2020 recipient of the Gries Family Award in recognition of his lasting impact of Cleveland’s Jewish and general communities. For 25 years, the Gries Family Award has honored individuals who have demonstrated extensive top leadership in Federation and other local Jewish organization activities, as well as significant leadership in Greater Cleveland’s general community. Libman, a dedicated community volunteer and partner at Bober Markey Fedorovich, was presented the award at the Jewish Federation of Cleveland Board of Trustees meeting on August 26.
