The Jewish Federation of Cleveland raised $1,097,191 in support of its 2017 Campaign for Jewish Needs on Super Sunday Sept. 25 at the Federation’s Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Building in Beachwood.

The Jewish Federation of Cleveland is proud to announce that Reneé Chelm of Pepper Pike was honored yesterday by The Jewish Federations of North America’s National Women’s Philanthropy with its prestigious Kipnis-Wilson/Friedland Award. The award was announced at the 2016 International Lion of Judah Conference (ILOJC), being held Sept. 11-13 in Washington, D.C.

The Jewish Federation of Cleveland seeks volunteers to make calls that raise funds for the 2017 Campaign for Jewish Needs. The event takes place on Sunday, September 25 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Building (25701 Science Park Drive, Beachwood).

Etty Valinaamat usually opens her home to cook for others. In addition to being a high school baking teacher, she runs a bakery in her hometown of Beit Shean, Israel, where guests are invited to “eat and pray.”

Every new gift or increase of $1,000 or more will be matched dollar for dollar up to $10,000 during this year's campaign.

There was a time when Noah Farrell's future didn't look very bright.

A stone staircase, in disrepair for years, once again provides a second access to the Hebrew Cultural Garden. The tall fountain at the center of the gardens between Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and East Boulevard in Cleveland, dry for years, is working. The plaques at the ends of the spokes of the gardens have been buffed and largely updated.

Donna Yanowitz had never been to the Hebrew Cultural Garden at Rockefeller Park in Cleveland before she was asked to chair the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s newly formed HCG committee in 2006.
