Why We Volunteer with Face to Face
Caring for One Another is a priority of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland. And our community is dedicated to caring for the estimated 900 Holocaust survivors living in Northeast Ohio.
Face to Face is a Holocaust educational program for public and private middle and high school students in the region. It provides an opportunity for students to learn about the Holocaust and to apply its lessons to their own corner of the world. Face to Face also provides a unique forum for Holocaust survivors to tell their stories and have their stories be heard and remembered.
If you enjoy working with middle school and high school age students and have an interest in sharing Holocaust education, Face to Face is a great volunteer opportunity for you. Volunteering as a docent, you are able to explore a variety of topics during presentations including consequences of intolerance, prejudice, stereotyping, and discrimination among others.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE:
Docent, Administrative Assistant
- Volunteer opportunities as a Docent with Face to Face take place on Tuesday and Thursday mornings throughout the school year. Extensive training is available.
- If you prefer to be behind-the-scenes opportunities as an Administrative Assistant are also available including research, outreach to schools, and office work.
An Information Session will be held to hear more about this volunteer opportunity at the Jewish Federation of Cleveland.
Docent and Administrative Assistant volunteer opportunities are located at:
Congregation Shaarey Tikvah
