WATCH: Inside the Play: “Passing the Love of Women”

Although most of our beloved concert venues, theaters, and galleries remain closed, the Cleveland Israel Arts Connection was delighted to be able to offer our community an opportunity to connect with Israeli performers in a virtual setting to view and discuss "Passing the Love of Women" with the some crew and local arts experts.
In 2003, playwrights Motti Lerner and Israel Zamir adapted Isaac Bashevis Singer's short story “Two.” The eponymous pair are Polish yeshiva students whose mutual devotion recalls that of the biblical Jonathan and David.
The conversation discussed 'How does one translate this 19th century story of forbidden love – as interpreted through mid-20th century sensibilities – into a 21st century piece of theater?'
