GARDEN VALLEY NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSE
Location: 7100 Kinsman Rd., Cleveland, OH 44104
Time: 11:30 am – 1:45 pm
Age Requirement: 8+ with adult
Project: Serve a hot nutritious lunch and play games with children at-risk for hunger
About Garden Valley: Garden Valley provides low income community members with literacy support, food pantry, computer training, afterschool programs & more.

KOSHER FOOD PANTRY
Location: 2004 S. Green Rd., Cleveland, OH 44121
Time: 10:30 am - noon
Age Requirement: 9+ with adult; teens welcome
Project: Pack bags of nutritious fruits & veggies for shut-ins and the elderly living in low income housing.
About the Kosher Food Pantry: The Kosher Food Pantry, a partner agency of the Cleveland Food Bank, provides dry goods and produce to serve needy Jewish families in Cleveland’s eastern suburbs, as well as those referred by Cleveland’s social service agencies without discrimination.

Age Requirement: 6+ with adult
Project: Celebrate Chanukah by making delicious sufganiot (jelly donuts) with residents.
About Wiggins Place: Wiggins Place provides assisted living residential care in a culture of innovation & excellence guided by Jewish values. Wiggins Place is operated by the Jewish Federation’s partner agency Menorah Park.

Age Requirement: 8+ with adult
Project: Sort and fold donated clothing for those in need.
About the Cleveland Chesed Center: The Chesed Center works to ease the financial burden on Jewish families throughout Cleveland by providing access to food, clothing, household necessities and furniture at no cost, all while respecting privacy and dignity.

JFSA’S HORVITZ YOUTHABILITIES
Location: JFSA, 29125 Chagrin Blvd., Pepper Pike, OH 44122
Time: 1:00 – 2:30 pm
Age Requirement: 5+ with adult
Project: Help the homeless by making badges for the Homeless Stand Down (HSD). The HSD is a one-day event providing resources for individuals and families facing poverty and homelessness that takes place in January.
About JFSA’s Horvitz YouthAbility: The Horvitz YouthAbility program serves disabled and at-risk youth by engaging them in volunteer service, vocational activities, and social enrichment. YouthAbility participants help themselves by helping others.

RONALD McDONALD HOUSE

Project: Prepare and serve lunch to families whose child is receiving medical treatment from an area hospital
About Ronald McDonald House: Supports families whose children receive treatment at area medical centers by providing a homelike environment and essential resources and services.

AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY’S HOPE LODGE

Age Requirement: 4+ with adult
Project: Play games and create a holiday craft project with patients & their families
About Hope Lodge: Provides a free homelike accommodations for cancer patients and their caregivers by offering a supportive environment within close proximity to local cancer treatment centers.

MANDEL JCC’s LUNCH PLUS
Location: Warrensville Center Apts., 15000 Warrensville Center Rd., Cleveland Hts., OH 44118
Time: 11:00 am – 1:30 pm
Age Requirement: 4+ with adult
Project: Create a craft project and play Bingo with older adult participants of the program
About Lunch Plus: The Mandel JCC Lunch Plus Program serves hot kosher lunches six days a week in the Warrensville Community Apartments dining area. It also provides free activities and services, for adults 60 and over, that encourage seniors to maintain independent lifestyles through exercise and social opportunities.

Project: Serve a hot lunch to those in need
About St. Augustine’s Hunger Center: St. Augustine Hunger Center is a parish that has welcomed the impoverished population since the 1860’s. Its Hunger Center not only provides meals but addresses other needs of the poor and the homeless such as, food, clothing, medical help and emergency funding.
