Israeli superstar Noa to perform

CLEVELAND – The Jewish Federation of Cleveland is partnering with more than 50 local Jewish organizations to celebrate Yom Ha’atzmaut, Israel’s Independence Day, featuring Israeli superstar Noa, on Monday, May 5 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Executive Caterers at Landerhaven, 6111 Landerhaven Drive, Mayfield Heights. The annual celebration is a family-friendly event for all ages. It is free and open to the public.

Young children can enjoy arts and crafts, balloon artists and face-painting while learning about Israeli life and culture. The whole family can eat delicious kosher fare at the food court, ranging from traditional Israeli favorites like falafel, to American food like chicken strips and french fries. Guests can also tour the Israeli marketplace (shuk), where vendors sell beautiful jewelry, exotic spices, hand-made wares, and more.

Plus, guests can dance to live music and see Israeli superstar, Noa, whose free concert begins at 8:00 p.m. Noa is considered one of Israel’s leading musicians, and has sold over 1.5 million albums worldwide. Limited guaranteed seating for Noa’s concert is available online.

For young professionals, ages 21-45, the Federation’s Young Leadership Division (YLD) is partnering with Cleveland’s Jewish young professionals groups for a falafel dinner with Israeli beer and wine at 6:00 p.m. (While the rest of the event is free, the YLD event costs $20 for pre-registration or $25 at the door.)

The Federation also hosts Yom Hazikaron, Day of Remembrance. This meaningful memorial service remembers those who have sacrificed in the struggle for Israel’s independence. The Federation hosts the ceremony the day before Yom Ha’atzmaut, on Sunday, May 4 at 7 p.m. at the Stonehill Auditorium at the Mandel JCC, 26001 S. Woodland Road, Beachwood.
