PROGRAM INFORMATION AND APPLICATION
Program Description:
The Israel at 75 Microgrant program is part of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s Israel at 75 Initiative that is designed to:
- Deepen connections and widen perspectives and conversation about Israel.
- Explore what Israel is today and celebrate the accomplishments of its people.
- Enable Clevelanders to find new and different ways to connect to Israel.
- Enable Clevelanders to be more aware of the modern State and interested in her developments.
An Israel at 75 Microgrant is pre-approved funding for a program or project in the Cleveland Jewish Community geared towards Israel programming that support one or more of these goals. Organizations or individuals will be reimbursed for expenses (up to the agreed upon amount) after completion of their project.
The Jewish Federation of Cleveland Israel at 75 Microgrant program will provide funds to Jewish organizations (Synagogues and/or Agencies, and other 501c3 non-profits) and individuals for projects that meet the following guidelines:
- Program/Initiative must be aligned with the mission of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland. https://www.jewishcleveland.org/who-we-are/about-us/
- Funds will only be provided for projects whose programmatic purposes are compatible with this mission.
- Program/Initiative furthers one or more of the stated goals of Israel at 75 (above).
- Projects must deepen connection to the Cleveland Jewish community.
- Funds cannot be used for any direct lobbying or fundraising event (i.e., no donations may be solicited at the event).
- The Israel at 75 Microgrant program must be acknowledged on marketing materials (e.g., “This program is supported in part by a Jewish Federation of Israel at 75 Microgrant”). The Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s Israel at 75 logo must also be included and will be provided by the Jewish Federation of Cleveland.
- Public events that are funded by Israel at 75 microgrants must include their program on the Community Calendar. https://www.jewishcleveland.org/news/community_calendar/
- Organizations should review Community Calendar prior to scheduling events, as we want to avoid overlapping events. Federation staff will be in touch if a conflict arises.
- Projects that are funded by Israel at 75 microgrants must submit a narrative and financial report on the final program to the Israel at 75 microgrant subcommittee.
- If any funds are granted to be used for an event, a pre-determined number of Federation staff can attend free of charge. For specific questions please reach out to Jaclyn Szaruga at jszaruga@jewishcleveland.org.
- As a condition to receiving funds, applicants agree that after the event, program, or initiative, they will provide Federation with a list of attendees and contact information to enable Federation to track the impact and reach of the Microgrant program.

Funding for round 3 (October 1 – October 30, 2023) is available as follows:
- Individual applicants are able to apply for up to $1,000 to support their project/initiative per calendar year.
- Organizations (must be a 501c3 non-profit) are able to apply for up to $3,500 for a single program, or,
- Organizations (must be a 501c3 non-profit) are able to collaborate with additional organizations for up to $5,000 for a single program.
- The subcommittee will prioritize applicants for organizations or audiences that have not received prior funding. If subsequent funds are being applied for by the same organization, they should be for a different audience and/or demographic.
- Funds cannot be used for any direct lobbying or fundraising event (i.e., no donations may be solicited at the event).
Priority funding will be given to first-time applicants. These guidelines are subject to change based on the Israel at 75 Microgrant subcommittee’s decisions.
The final round of funding will open in February of 2024, and will be available through March 2024. All microgrant recipients must utilize their funding by June 30, 2024.

- Applicants must complete an online application outlining their project and budget.
- The deadline to submit an application for the third round of funding is Monday, October 30.
- If additional information is needed following your submission, a Federation staff member will reach out with follow-up questions.
- Organizations will be notified if they have been approved for funding by November 15, 2023.
- Microgrant recipients must utilize their funding by June 30, 2024, unless otherwise agreed upon in the application acceptance/award letter.
