Share the warmth of the holiday by donating new gifts to children and families in need. The Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s Chanukah in a Basket program is collecting items to be distributed to local community members experiencing financial distress. For many children, these gifts may be the only gifts they receive this season.

“Chanukah in a Basket sends a powerful message to families,” said Joanie Berger, Chair of the Federation’s Jewish Volunteer Network. “It says to people who may otherwise not feel included, ‘We see you, and we want Chanukah to be a time of light and celebration.’ I hope all families consider donating to this worthy program.”

Items sought include toys, games, winter accessories, and gift cards for toddlers to teens.

Donations may be dropped off from 8 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday, until December 2 at the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Building, 25701 Science Park Drive in Beachwood.

Chanukah in a Basket is a program of the Federation’s Jewish Volunteer Network. For more information, please visit www.jewishcleveland.org, email Ellen Miller at emiller@jcfcleve.org or call 216-593-2825.
