Campaigner of the Week: Andrew Zelman

Andrew is a Campaigner for the Young Leadership Division (YLD), who takes pride in connecting with friends and family each year to ask them to support our community and the Campaign for Jewish Needs.
Q - What inspires you to be a Campaigner for the Young Leadership Division?
It's important to be a Campaigner for the Young Leadership Division (YLD) because my friends and family care about the community. I take pride in connecting with them each year to support the Cleveland Jewish community. I became involved in Federation giving through my family; my parents have given to Federation and been involved with Federation for as long as I can remember and I’m inspired to follow in their footsteps.
Q - Why is it important for you to campaign?
Federation is there for the community in so many ways. I feel campaigning for the Campaign for Jewish Needs helps to provide a voice for those who don't have a voice. As Jewish Cleveland grows stronger, we need more and more support from the community. Reaching out to my fellow young leaders and other community members is as important as my own gift to the Federation. We are all working towards one goal.
Q - What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoy spending time with my wife Shannon, our son Grant, and our cat Oscar. We love to explore all Cleveland has to offer. But we’ve also had the chance to visit Jewish communities around the world in Cuba, France, Germany, Hungary, Israel, and Russia. What we’ve discovered from those experiences is we’re no different from them. We’re all Jews. As we raise money for the Campaign for Jewish Needs, we’re supporting people here in Jewish Cleveland, but our international partners and cities as well.
